The Map Trap by Andrew Clements

According to the map obsessed Alton Ziegler, maps can be used to chart human behavior, effects of cafeteria food, clothing choices, and cliques.  But Alton finds himself in uncharted territory when one of his "secret" maps is stolen and he has to discover how to undo the potential damage to his middle school reputation.

  1. Alton Ziegler is very talented at figuring out patterns and creating maps and figures that represent these things. For example, what the brain of your teacher might contain or how many times the school principal says “Um” during morning announcements. His maps and drawings are harmless, funny, and unique. So who has stolen them and why is this person blackmailing Alton? And what can he do before the blackmailer implodes Alton’s reputation at school and detonates his friendships? This is a quick and original read.

  2. This is the book I'm voting for.the book the Map Trap was about a kid named Alton Ziegler who's maps been stolen by map swiper.I loved this book. this book left me thinking about whats going to happen. Nereida Grace school Provodince
