This is a satisfyingly creepy read.
ReplyDeleteMolly and Kip are orphans from Ireland, desperate to find work (despite the fact that they are kids). They seem to be separated from their parents in a fragile back story (that gets exploded ¾ of the way through the book.) They are travelling through an English town where there is hope of finding work in a once elegant house that is falling to ruins. The (formerly) wealthy family living there are secretive and victims of a mysterious illness . They are becoming increasingly and alarmingly weak.
So what—or who—is causing the night noises? Who is making the muddy tracks through the house? What is behind the illness plaguing the family? What is in that locked room upstairs? Who is the stranger that Kip and Molly see? And why are the villagers terrified to approach the house?
If you like being too scared to go to sleep… you have found your book.

I think the author who wrote the Night Gardener tries to make you feel the way he feel's by making a scary book when I read this book I got the chill's.
ReplyDeleteI love scary stories because they make me feel like I'm in the story this is my favorite book that I read for the Rhode island Children's Book Award.

This book took me into a world of mystery. It was one of those stories that gave me a chill and shock. This is one of the few books I read that kept me in bed thinking about what will happen next. I want to read more mysteries like this one. I recommend this book for every one who likes to get in bed and read until you cant stop.
