Vanishing Coin by Kate Egan

Fourth-grader Mike Weiss isn't a bad kid, but he's always in trouble.  Mike and his new neighbor Nora (who's good at everything) finds the White Rabbit Magic Shop, which is owned by a real magician.  They begin to discover that magic might be the thing Mike is really good at.

  1. First of all, fourth grader Mike is a good kid. He just can’t sit still. We all knows kids like that (some of us ARE kids like that). No one seems to get Mike or understand what he might be good at. Except for that strange guy in the strange store called the White Rabbit. It turns out that Mike might be good at stage magic. But is there something else even stranger going on? (spoiler alert: when you read this book, you will find neat instructions for real magic tricks inside! But don’t tell your teacher! 

  2. The vanishing coin didn't seem to have purpose. The story seemed bland like a random thing. Maybe if the plot was bigger it would have been better. The magic trick were cool.
