  1. Who knew about the origin of the Ferris Wheel? Who knew about the engineer who was determined to create a new structural wonder of the at the Chicago World’s Fair in 1893? And who knew that it would be so hard getting it all done? The story of George Ferris’ achievement is told with neat facts sneaking in the margins and glorious illustrations.

  2. I think it was not fair that he did not get any money to build his Ferris Wheel, they did not think his plan of a round circle would work. Then they had to give it to him because they did not have another plan. They said they were sorry they believe in him. They made the payment to ride 24 cents. I think that is a good deal. I can't ride one now because it is too expensive now.

  4. I think that this book is a nice little book about the origins of the Ferris Wheel. Back then, steel was a new thing, and electricity was deemed unsafe (Because of Edison, people thought that touching electric things will instantly kill them, and they will go out like Topsy the Elephant). Ferris showed that wheels that can be ridden are possible, and that electricity is not such a bad thing. In conclusion, this is my response to Mr. Ferris and his Wheel.
