  1. Sometimes life is harder than it needs to be. For Nola, this is certainly the case. All of her life, she has been best friends with the Swift boys next door. Canaan, her best friend and protector, Brian, the calm and kind peacemaker, and Kevin… who never shuts up. But things change overnight for her friends when their father leaves one day and never comes back. Nola is used to fixing things, but her world is becoming undone. Not just the Swift’s world, but hers as well. In her desire to help her friends, Nola discovers some pretty despicable truths. And in her quest to get her friends back, she has to combat some very unexpected nastiness. A good read for anyone who wants to be a good friend… and has had to deal with challenges to friendship.

  2. I think that these boys were going through a tough time. It was emotional to read their story. I felt sorry for these boys.
